Points accrue slowly unless you play daily; support is responsive. Redemption for gift cards is reliable but limited.

I saw a lot of Buff ads on YouTube and always assumed it was a scam, but I never found solid proof online. My biggest question was whether Valorant allows players to use Buff to get free skins. I also wondered how Buff can even provide those skins and whether you need to grind nonstop to earn enough points. From what I learned, Buff basically uses your PC to mine crypto in the background, which can wear down your GPU over time. Even if you stick with it, the rewards are extremely slow. For example, getting the equivalent of a 20-euro Valorant Points card can take more than six months of constant use, and when you finally collect enough points, gift cards are often hard to claim. Because of this, it seems like you’ll get far less value than the time and hardware you put in.

I tried Buff a while back because it promised free in-game items, games, and gift cards just for playing. The program runs in the background and tracks achievements while you game. At first, it didn’t seem harmful. My CPU and GPU usage stayed normal, the computer didn’t overheat, and scans with Malwarebytes and VirusTotal showed no threats. Later, I learned it had worked as a crypto miner in the past. Even if that changed, I found the app pointless. The rewards weren’t worth the time, and the setup felt sketchy. Privacy concerns were real since the software had to run constantly. In the end, I uninstalled Buff, left their community, and decided it was a waste. To me, it comes across more like a scam than a real way to earn anything valuable.
