Expert and User Insights by Checkout 51 Customers

Checkout 51 is a cashback app that helps shoppers save on groceries, gas, and online offers. Add new deals each Thursday, redeem in-store or online, and upload receipts to earn PayPal or Venmo payouts. US users can also claim cents-per-gallon savings at participating gas stations. While earnings build gradually due to a $20 cash-out threshold, it’s a reliable companion to other cashback tools for consistent, low-effort savings on everyday purchases.

Legit receipt-scanning cashback app with weekly rotating grocery offers, US-only gas cashback, online offers, and in-app surveys. Good stacker with other cashback tools, but the $20 threshold and variable offer mix make it a slow, steady saver rather than a big earner.

I’ve had my account for 6 years and earned only $50 in total, with two $20 checks and $10 still sitting in my balance. It feels like one of the slowest earners compared to Ibotta, where I made nearly $500 in the same amount of time. Most of the offers don’t match what I usually buy, and many of the listed products are sold at inflated prices, making the rebates less valuable. The gas offer was helpful when it existed, but it was removed after the shortage and never returned. In 5 years of using this app off and on, I’ve seen only minor updates like videos and occasional “any brand” offers. Meanwhile, other receipt apps such as Fetch, Coin Out, and Receipt Hog have given me multiple payouts, sometimes over $100 in less than a year, while this one barely adds up. Overall, it requires too much time for too little reward.

Lately my receipts keep getting rejected even though the screenshots I upload from Walmart.com are clear. When I resubmit, they usually get accepted, but it’s frustrating to have to do the process twice almost every time. I’m curious if anyone else has been running into the same issue.
