I recently started working with a client who uses Check Point’s Harmony Endpoint. It functions like a VPN that automatically connects whenever the device joins a network. The installation is simple, but once it’s set up, the only option available is to suspend service. There’s no direct access to other settings within the application itself, only through Windows settings like adapter and network sharing. It feels neat and easy to use, though I had never heard of Check Point before this. Since the client just adopted it after being acquired, neither of us has much experience with it yet.

I reached checkpoint #1 and it overwhelmed me with material I had never seen before. Up until then, I had mastered every level to the purple crown, but half of the checkpoint was full of unfamiliar grammar and vocabulary. The speaking exercises were even worse because I could only catch a few words here and there. I know they warned me that new content would appear, but this is language learning, not math. I can’t “solve” things I’ve never studied, especially since I’m not a trained linguist. The whole thing left me wondering what they were thinking, especially since it only awarded 10 XP. After that level of stress, it felt like I deserved far more. I only managed an 80% score by guessing and getting lucky. Overall, Duolingo checkpoints feel less like progress checks and more like unnecessary punishment.
